It's not a holiday! It's an opportunity to give something back to communities and environments that really need our help or to have an exciting travel experience off the beaten track.
2) It doesn't have to be a whole year... Do not be deceived by the title! You can go for as little as 2 weeks on a taster trip. There are many travel options, choose from 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3, 6 or 12 month projects in over 40 countries.
3) What is a ‘grown up'?
There are no age barriers to participate. Its all about travelling with like-minded people that want to do something worthwhile.

Whatever ideas you have for your career break travel we can help you achieve your dreams and goals. Some people choose a single activity, such as a career break volunteer project with wildlife in Kenya, whereas some people have more time and choose combine lots of different activities in various destinations.
Our career break community volunteer projects give you the chance to work within the community, supporting children and adults in deprived parts of the world. You could get involved in a community initiative to fight poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa, teach English to school children in Thailand or work towards the protection of human rights with a special focus on women and children in Argentina. We have a number of opportunities to take part in medical volunteer projects abroad. You could help by assisting local medical staff and working closely alongside local communities. We have places for people with or without medical qualifications.
Help to conserve the world's most fragile environments. You could get involved with an environmental education programme in the Galapagos Islands, travelling the Islands with Park Rangers helping to promote conservation to younger generations or help protect the Australian natural environment under threat of becoming polluted and damaged.
If you are passionate about animal conservation, career break wildlife volunteering is for you. There is an excellent range of projects to get involved whether you want to make a difference within elephant conservation, nurse injured or orphaned monkeys at a Monkey Rehab in South Africa, lion breeding in Zimbabwe, Orang-utan interaction in Borneo, help save the sea turtles of Costa Rica or take part in vital conservation work with the Giant Tortoises of the Galapagos Islands. Volunteer Holidays
If you have limited time or would prefer not to be away from home for too long but still want to make a difference whilst you are abroad, then why not try one of our two-week volunteer holidays?
Do something worthwhile and get more out of your trip by learning a new skill. Learning a new language allows you to gain a far better understanding of a country, its people and its culture. Communication breaks down barriers and enables you to get a lot more out of your volunteering experience just by being able to converse with local people. You can learn Spanish or Portuguese in Latin America, Mandarin in China, Thai and Hindi as part of an orientation programme in Thailand and India. For those that speak French, why not practice your conversation skills in Senegal, West Africa?
Teach English abroad to local children and really make a difference. We have a number of rewarding placements available in Africa, Latin America, Asia and even Outer Mongolia! Further your knowledge and qualifications by teaching English in China and gain a teaching qualification, recognised by TEFL.

After redundancy, Sally decided to see the world. She enjoyed our South Africa Wildlife Course so much that within 48 hours of arriving back in the UK she booked onto the Malaysia Orangutan Experience and the Thai Adventure!
