Zulu Cuisine

South Africans by nature are massive meat eaters and the Zulu diet has taken on this influence. They have also taken on influences from Indian and Malay cuisine.

The famous South African "braai", meaning barbeque, has been adopted by the Zulus. Often their evening meal will consist of braaied steak with turmeric and salt served with "pap". Pap is a salty porridge which is fluffy and white. This is all brought together with chopped tomato, green pepper and onion with a little garlic and onion.
